Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the Saudi General Surgery Society, it is my great honor to welcome you to the 16th Saudi General Surgery Society Congress, which will be held from April 25-27, 2025, at the JW Marriott Hotel in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This Congress will cover a wide range of topics, focusing on the latest updates in the field of surgery.
Our distinguished speakers, who come from various regions across Saudi Arabia and internationally, will share their invaluable scientific and surgical expertise. They will update us on the latest advances in surgery and lead engaging discussions on key topics and debates.
This year, we are particularly excited to announce that the Congress will host the first-ever meeting of Gulf Surgical Societies and Associations, in addition to the participation of over 10 surgical associations and groups.
The SGSS 16th Congress has been officially approved by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties. In addition, several surgical workshops designed for surgeons and trainees will take place on Friday, April 25, 2025, ahead of the main Congress.
We look forward to welcoming you and hope the Congress will be an incredible educational experience for all.

Call for Abstracts
The 3rd Annual Surgical Scientific Day
Submission guidelines:
General guidelines:
- All submissions are in English only
- The work should be original and provide valuable scientific information/data in the field of surgery
- The submitted work must not be published
- The Scientific Committee will determine whether the submission will be presented as an oral or poster presentation.
- All submission must be completed by 15 March 2025
Abstract body text guidelines:
- The abstract must not exceed 300 words
- The abstract must follow the common scientific flow: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Conclusion or the flow of case reports: Introduction, Case Presentation , Discussion, Conclusion and Outcomes.
- Do not include any tables or figures.
- Avoid using abbreviations and acronyms in the abstract unless the abbreviation/acronym is commonly understood and/or is used multiple times in the abstract.
- Make sure to put the title at the top of the page followed by the names and affiliations of all co-authors of the study (The presenting author name should be put first and the supervisor name is last).
- Submitted file must be in PDF.
Failure to comply with the above guidelines will result in immediate rejection of your submission.
