The congress starts on November 6, 2026 in Jeddah.
On behalf of the Saudi General Surgery Society, it is my honor to welcome you to the 17th SGSS Congress, held jointly with the 2nd Gulf General Surgery Societies Conference and the 4th Annual Surgical Scientific Day, taking place from 6–8 November 2026 at the Hilton Hotel, Jeddah.
This year we gather around a theme that sits at the heart of our profession’s future: Surgical Education: Shaping the Next Generation of Surgeons. Surgery has always advanced through what one generation chooses to pass on to the next. As our tools, techniques, and patient expectations evolve, so too must the way we train, mentor, and prepare those who will carry the field forward.
Over three days, we will bring together leading surgeons, educators, trainees, and partners from across the Kingdom, the Gulf, and beyond to exchange ideas, share evidence, and strengthen the bonds that make our regional surgical community stronger.
I warmly encourage residents, fellows, and medical students to take part, present their work, and engage with colleagues who share their commitment to excellence. The future of our specialty is shaped not only in the operating room, but in moments of teaching, dialogue, and discovery like these.
I look forward to welcoming you to Jeddah for what promises to be a meaningful and memorable Congress.
Open to medical students, interns, residents, specialists, and academic staff.
